FRANCE is full of fantastic sites to visit. It is Europe's leading tourist destination. Over 83 million came here every year making it the most popular tourist destination in the world. France is very famous to its culture, own historical monuments and castles as well as in historical cities. It's also famous in beaches and seaside resorts. Added to that, the remarkable gardens and parks. It is a great and very rich country and could be the best choice to go when you want to vacation.
1. Eiffel Tower
Eiffel Tower is located in Champ de Mars, Paris. It is actually the symbol of Paris and considered to be one of the most famous tourist attraction in France. This magnificent iron tower was built and named after engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, who made entrance on exhibit for the International World Fair in Paris on 1889. The tower became the most visited attraction in France.
2. Palace of Versailles
Located in Versailles France,
Palace of Versailles was the official residence of the Kings of France started way back in Louis XIII's reigned. Upon the reign of his son, Louis XIV or known as the "
Sun King", the place transformed to a very magnificent and dazzling palace. It becomes the symbol of Louis XIV's greatness of political power. Nowadays, Palace of Versailles remained to be one of the most famous tourist destination in Europe for its dazzling furniture, beautiful gardens and those antiques that was found in the area. 3. St. Tropez
A town located on the
French Riviera, but it is not just a town. It has a very interesting historic story. It was said to be a military stronghold, became fisherman village, and later became a resort for American and European who are not just a traveler, but a social group of wealthy people who join social activities at their levels. They are celebrities, people in power, royalty. Such place deserved to be one of the famous destinations in France.
4. Chamonix - Mont Blanc
Mont Blanc know as
"White Mountain" is the highest mountain peak in Europe. A part of it is a border between France and Italy. It was the first location of the first

6. Gorge du Verdon
Located in south-eastern France,
Gorge du Verdon is a long canyon that measures 25 kilometres long and up to 700 metres deep from below the Verdon river. The river was named after its stunning green emerald color making it the best destinations for a tourist. Water sports activities can obviuosly found here.
7. Chateau de Chambord

UNESCO World Heritage Site and One of the most recognized and the most visited chateau in world,
Chateau de Chambord was built to serve as a hunting lodge of
King Francis I. It is the largest chateau in Loire Valley. There was a time when Chateau de Chambord was left abandoned during the French revolution, then there was restoration. And after WWII, art works from other chateau was move to Chateau de Chambord. Now it's considered to be one of the best attraction in France.
8. Dune of Pilat
The
Dune of Pilat is the tallest sand dune in Europe. It is located in the
Arcachon Bay area. From the top of the dune, the visible stunning Atlantic Ocean and the entrance to Arcachon Bay.
9. Palais des Papes
One of the largest and most important Gothic buildings in the history of France,
Palais des Papes is located in Avignon. It is a palace that made up from two buildings, namely: the old
Palace of Benedict XII and the new
Palace of Clement VI. And it has the best Gothic architectural style in the world. Under Cultural category, it was listed in the
UNESCO World Heritage Site.
